Green Chili Cream Cheese Pig Shots Recipe

This appetizer is a must try. Create a shot glass using bacon and sausage, stuff it with a cream cheese green chili mix, top it with a sweet bbq rub, and glaze it with bbq sauce and you have yourself a pig shot. The combined flavors in this dish are just amazing.

  1. Cut sausage into half inch width slices
  2. Cut Bacon in half
  3. Wrap a sice of bacon around each sausage slice and secure with a toothpick
  4. Put cream cheese in bowl and let warm up a little so its easier to mix.
  5. Chop up peppers into small pieces
  6. combine peppers, cheddar cheese, half of the bbq rub, and cream cheese
  7. Using a spoon or knife to scoop mixture form ball shape with mix and drop into each shot glass
  8. Even out amounts in shot glasses with any extra
  9. Sprinkle with remaining bbq rub
  10. Preheat yoru smoker / grill to 325 (use hickory or fruit wood if smoking)
  11. Place on smoker / grill over indirect hear to cook for 45 minutes
  12. Brush on BBQ sauce and continue cooking until bacon is crispy. (Should be about another 15 minutes)
  13. Allow to rest for a few minutes ot give the filling a chance to cool slightly
  14. Serve and enjoy!
