Whether you are a seasoned pit master looking for some new recipes to try or you’re just starting on your bbq journey and are looking for some guidance, this blog has something for you.
Let me start by saying I am not a professional chef nor have I competed in any BBQ competitions. I live in Maine and there is more chance for a lobster cookoff than a BBQ compeition to be found up here. What I do have is a passion for all things BBQ.
I started out grilling many years ago. I own a char broil propane grill that has seen a lot of use. We probably grill 2 to 3 times a week, especially during the summer. This year for Christmas, I received a pellet smoker and that has taken my excitement to a whole new level. I am pretty sure I am driving my wife nuts with the amount of gadgets, pellets, rubs, and sauces I have tried to buy since then. It is pretty amazing all the things you can cook on this thing.
I started this blog because I want to share recipes I have enjoyed and also talk about things I have learned while grilling or smoking. This blog will also give me another reason to keep trying new recipes.
I am hoping to bring a little bit of a different perspective to some recipes that I share as well. I am currently doing the Weight Watchers program…probably in part because of my love of BBQ and beer. Because of this and with a lot of help from my wife, we have tried to lighten up some of the recipes we try. I will always share the original recipe, but when possible, I will add a section to the blog post talking about ways we have found to lighten up recipes without sacrificing the flavor.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any suggestions for things you woudl like to hear about.
